Parable of the pumpkins

So I came across this idea on the wonderful pinterest that a lady had come up with and granted... Hers was much cuter than mine but I was using my current resources and this is what we came up with. The lesson talks about Patty and Perry. Patty is not very nice and tells lies and never says she is sorry and Perry on the other hand does just the opposite. So after you read the poem/story about these pumpkins you talk about how we want our insides to be. Clean and pure or dirty and ugly. And then you reveal I your kiddos what the insides of these pumpkins look like. Hadlie was loving it!! She couldn't get enough of looking inside Patty and seeing all of her gross slimy guts. Ha Aaron asked Hadlie is we should look at her insides and she got a very concerned look on her face and grabbed the top of her head and said, "I don't have a hole in my head to look into!!" hahaha we all chuckled and then to finish out the night we went and picked out some pumpkins for each of us. It was a great FHE lesson to go along with Halloween.

Boy or Girl???

Well we went to the doctor today and got to do our big 20 week ultrasound. Can I just say this? I would be the worst ultrasound tech in the world... I'm pretty sure.
Me: oh is that a foot?
Ultrasound man: Um no that is the umbilical cord.
Haha yeah I was way off and when he said... Can you tell what you are having? I was thinking, "Umm a baby with five legs?" haha I couldn't tell a thing. So he pointed it out to me to me and we found out out little baby is a BOY!!! As you can see by my punctuation marks... I was very happy about the matter. Hadlie, on the other hand was not. I will share some pics of our little man with you but be prepared. He was either being camera shy or he was just being a boy who got comfortable and wouldn't move for you no matter how hard you tried. The 4D pic shows his cute little face... planted right in the placenta?!? Haha so it's a little tricky to make something out of them but believe me, there is a baby in the pics!

We're so excited to meet this little man!! :)

Introducing...

Baby Doolin #2!! Our family is so excited for our little addition. :) I am currently 17 weeks along and feeling great! We will find out the flavor on Aug 20th... I will do my best to post that update on this sad deserted blog of mine. Haha Hadlie is very excited. Aaron calls the baby "baby Bruce" so that is also what Hadlie calls him/her. (when Hadlie was on the womb, she was our "baby Ted") and when I ask her what we are going to have she will reply, "umm... It's just a baby sister." or she may tell me, "hmmm, let's have a baby brother!" ha so I don't think she really cares. I am kind of hoping for a little boy deep down but I will take whatever I can get. I am just really grateful that we are having another baby, boy or girl. :)

Completely random stuff...?

So below, I have pics of a sweet headband that I made with my sewing machine... That's right. I have been getting to know that baby more and more - I'm sure I have a long ways to go before I make anything too miraculous BUT these headbands were pretty miraculous to me. :) let me know if you want one, I'd love to make you one... It gives me more practice.

There is a picture of Hadlie's awesome hair whenever she is on our neighbors couch! It's amazing.

Another picture (I'm not sure what order these pics are posting bc I'm doing this on my phone and don't really know what I'm doing?!) is hadlie and her cousin Paityn holding the world's biggest cotton candy from the Logan Summerfest!! (they were bigger than them!)

Another one of Hadlie just being cute on some girl's soccer ball at a high school graduation party. And then there's a pic of Hadlie in her new pj's that Grandma Petersen got her when we went to the Disney Store at the city creek mall. They are her favorite - we basically have a tiffy every morning with me trying to get her to change into clothes and she would rather hang with Minnie Mouse all day long... It's great. I love those little daily battles that every mother faces. What would we do if we didn't have some type of battle with our child(ren) one day? It just wouldn't be right. :)

Conquer the Canyon!!

It was time for my annual 5K run in Smithfield, UT! I actually got my oldest brother Jeff and my Dad to join us this year. It was so much fun. My BFF Ali and her husband joined us too! (except they ran with turbo jet legs!) I didn't do anything amazing, but I improved from last year and I only had to stop running once. So I felt very proud. My parents kicked some bum for being in their 50's. I hope my body can still move like theirs when I reach that age. :) and then after the race, my dear brother took us out to breakfast at Angie's... "it's where the locals eat." haha and it was delicious. We deserved all those calories! But it is always a cool feeling to know that you tried something and succeeded at it. Never quit on yourself. Prove to yourself that you can do anything you want to, if you put your mind to it. :)

Primary Leadership Training

Hola everybody! So to be honest I am just messing around with my phone and blogging from it. I wanted to see if it really worked but while I am at it, I might as well post about my day yesterday. The primary presidency I am currently in went down to Temple Square to the primary leadership training and we had a blast. It was very inspiring to keep doing our best and to not give up. I needed to hear it. Afterwards we went across the street to the new mall. City Creek? Is that what it's called? Obviously I am way out of the loop in cache valley, I didn't even know it was open. But wow! Can I just say A-Mazing!! It is beautiful. The whole experience was a little overwhelming cuz it was so huge!! But my favorite store hands down was the Disney store - it was awesome! I felt like a little kid again! After the incredible mall, we went and ate lunch at PF Changs chinese. So we had a pretty great day!

Peponi

So I'm sure you have already seen this but I seriously love it. Not gonna lie, I wish I was cool enough to have someone fly me and a baby grand up on some cliff in Southern Utah to play a sweet song. Hadlie loves it too. She sings "Bumble Bumble, Bumblebee. Bumble bumble, Bumblebee. Bumble bumble, Bumblebee. Woah oh oh ohhhhh..." Good times in Paradise. :)
