Happy Birthday to Me (back in June... I'm a little behind)

Above is the Primary Presidency I am currently serving with. I love these ladies. We went to Texas Roadhouse so everyone could laugh at me riding the bull... haha not really but I did feel pretty ridiculous.
Below is a pic of our great neighbors... The beloved Blackmer Family. :) Ali & Mitch came over to the Cache Valley area so Mitch could finish school in his engineering program. Boy am I glad they decided to be our neighbors! I think having Ali around made the transition of going from full time working mom to stay at home mom a lot easier. They are also expecting a little child in January. We are stoked for those two lovebirds. Love you guys!

I must admit, I am one lucky girl. I seriously don't think I will EVER understand why or how it is so easy for Aaron to just... make whatever, but it is. Me on the other hand, I can slave away for HOURS and it will still look and most likely taste like the world's biggest disaster. But I told Aaron I wanted either a homemade carrot cake or just one of those ice cream roll up cake things from the store. (It never crossed my mind that you could make one from scratch...) But you don't worry, Aaron put his mind to it and created one of the best birthday cakes I have ever eaten. That thing even had homemade ice cream in it! Classy...

Ridin the bull at Texas Roadhouse... Yeehaw!

More Exciting Events

Aaron is quite the sucker for his little daughter. She was fascinated with strumming guitars so Aaron found a little cheap one online and bought it for her. She loves to play it. The funny part is, now we have a guitar in our home and no one to play it. Who knows, maybe Hadlie will be our little country star or something? (Gpa Petersen did buy her some cowgirl boots, ya never know!)

Cute dress Sister Wellock got Hadlie while we were visiting in Washington. Isn't she so cute?

We were able to go stay at Aaron's aunts house in Provo to watch his little brother Ben throw at State Track and he took first place!! He threw a 48 a smoked everyone else. Way to go Ben!!

Afterwards, we went bowling with Aaron's cousin Brandon. It was Hadlie's first time bowling. She had a blast! And I did pretty good myself. I almost broke 100... wahoo, go me! ha

Sitting in the sun with Aaron's family. This is Ashley and Kelsie.

And this is Hadlie waving to me from like a mile away. Haha

This picture of my twinkle toes was actually taken today. It is the reason I have had all day long to catch on my blog. :) I went to the foot doctor this morning and I had all 4 corners of my toenails cut out! I was SO nervous but the doctor did a great job. They actually spray really cold stuff on your feet so you can't even feel the needle as they are numbing you. My toes are still numb and will probably be until tomorrow. So you really don't feel a thing. And they cut, dig, clean, pull weird stuff out, (haha) and bandage them all up. They weren't really infected but I've always had problems with ingrown toenails and I had just had it. So I did!

I still look like an excited little kid to celebrate my birthday. haha My sweet friend Aubree came up to stay at my place this past weekend and she made a point to celebrate my birthday because she wasn't sure if she'd see me by the time my birthday came around. So she made this awesome and delicious cake and we had a little birthday bash.

She even got me a gift. I don't know if you can tell in this picture but it is the sharing time book for Primary. Which leads me to some new exciting news...
I was called as the 1st Counselor in the Primary!! We had our first Presidency meeting last night and we had a blast. I think I'm going to have a lot of fun in this calling.

So we have had a lot of fun and exciting things happening to our little family lately. Aaron is really enjoying serving as the 1st counselor in the Young Men's. Because I am now in the Primary presidency, the President said that Hadlie could start going to Nursery now where she is only 2 months away from being old enough. (I can't tell you how excited we both are for her to go to Nursery. Church is a NIGHTMARE with an active child who doesn't want to sit in Sunday School and Relief Society! :)

Hadlie is growing up too fast. It is kind of sad but yet her little personality is very funny - and fiesty might I add! She is kind of in a tantrum stage and it is so not cute - but according to all the other parents I have talked to, it is normal. I can't wait for her to talk to me. I would probably drop to the floor in tantrums too if no one could understand a word I was trying to say. haha Beyond all of that though, she really is a sweetheart. Aaron and I love her so much. She is like our whole entire world.

Well... until next time. You stay classy San Diego!
(Name that movie...)

Happy Graduation!!

After a lot of hard work and dedication, working full time jobs, having a child, oh life in general... we actually finished school! Technically we were done in Dec but since they axed the commencement, we decided to join the Spring commencement in May to make it official.

Aaron's family drove all the way from Cedar City just to watch a long boring ceremony. :) Even though they are long and boring, it really did make it feel official. My family including ALL 3 of my big brothers came as well. (My camera died so I don't have pics with them.) But it was cool to celebrate with our families.

A true graduate...

We did it Hadlie!!!
Go Aggies!

Easter Party

Happy Easter family pic!

An all-time classic photo. :) haha My Aunt Sally's face is priceless. Gotta love family right?! The funny part is that's not my hand. My cousin Tia wanted to be in the picture somewhere. ha

Leave it to my sister-in-law Lindsey to hide Easter eggs 10 feet above the children's heads. haha She said, "That's what their dad's are for!" And sure enough, it turns out that is what they're for!

8 out of 9 of those children are the grandbabies in my immediate family. Most of them are not so baby anymore... it's kind of crazy how fast kids grow up. Paige is going to be baptized this summer so three of them will have been baptized! It really is crazy. Left to Right:
Dilon, Wyler, Rylee, sad Hadlie, Paige, "Danno" (my aunts grandson), Conner who is holding Graysen, and beautiful Paityn who had dance pictures. haha What a crew! They really are cute kids - kind of crazy at times, but they just wouldn't be normal if they weren't crazy. Right? :)

Washington State Trip

Howdy Doody to anyone who reads this dear abandoned blog of mine. :) So a few things have happened since Hadlie's birthday back in February. Aaron and I decided it was time to take a trip. And what better place to travel to than "God's land" in Washington state. Aaron served his misison in Tacoma, WA so we thought it would make for a great trip to go visit all those awesome families he knew. Plus, there was a mission farewell we wanted to catch on Easter Sunday. His name is Carl Spencer and I think he really looked up to Aaron a lot when he was younger. So Aaron had worked everything out with Carl's mom and we totally surprised him the night we arrived to Washington. He opened the door and said, "DOOLIN!! What the freak are you doing here??" haha It was fun to see him. The picture above was taken after his talk on Easter Sunday.

Hadlie Easter morning getting a nice refreshing drink from her spray bottle.

We stayed in the Roberts mansion and Jen was awesome! She had her three little kiddies running around and they were so cute. This was Easter morning and Jen's little Easter Bunny even brought Hadlie some treats.

Family photo on Easter Sunday.

Saturday morning we headed to Seattle to go sightseeing. Jen was our tour guide and she had her three little kids Jackson, London, and Beckom. We actually lost Beckom for about 15 minutes and it was honestly so scary. Jen was crying her eyes out, calling the cops, I was watching all the rest of the kids and praying and it was the biggest relief when I saw Aaron come out of a building packing Beckom who had no idea what was going on. It was a huge eye opener to me of how scary and easy it is to lose sight of your children in busy little cities. I'm not used to that in little Logan, UT! But besides that little episode, we had a really good time. The sun was shining and kept us warm all day. Everyone said we couldn't have chosen a better day to experience rainy Seattle.

After Seattle, we headed back to Puyallup, WA and ate dinner with this cute little family. They are the Emmits. Nena (the mom) was actually a suragate mother for Jen's baby London. I think that is so cool - that is a true friend. And just in case it crossed your mind, it is illegal to pay suragate mother's one penny. The only thing you can do is pay the hospital bills. So yes, a true friend. Ryan (the dad) is a chiroprachtor and a dang good chef on the side. I'm pretty sure he could open up a little restaurant and do excellent.

We were told by the Wellock boys that this little doughnut shop was the best ever - so we had to make a stop and....? Well they were right. I probably could've eaten the whole bag of those little mini doughnuts!

They have these giant piggy banks all over the place. We decided to ride it - Hadlie was not very fond of it.

Hadlie Bug and Mommy. :)

This was just goofy. But at this market, you can order your fish and they throw it in the air to you and you are suppose to catch it. Personally, that doesn't really sound like a good time, but some people really got a kick out of it.

Daddy and Hadlie bought me a tulip... my favorite flower. :) They seriously had SO many tulips at the market. They looked so pretty.

SPACE NEEDLE!!
(We decided to just take a picture since they charged so much money to go up inside it.)

Friday we went to Olympia, WA to visit more families. This is the puget sound (I think that's what they call it?) It was very cold that day - I packed like we were going to California in July!

This was just a great picture to show how WA is packed with trees... everywhere! It is definitely a beautiful place, but when you're used to being able to see the mountains, it starts to feel very chlostraphobic.

This was the plane ride there. Both of them, just fast asleep. Hadlie did really well on the airplane. The air wasn't working so it was SO hot and by the end of the flight she was very antsy to get off. But overall, she did great.

This is the Wellock family. He is a family doctor and they were members when Aaron was on his mission. But he diagnosed Aaron with Type II diabetes while he was on his mission and took such good care of him. (Sorry my pics were so scattered.)
I was actually sad to come home. It was amazing to me how I grew to love all the families within seconds of meeting them. They all felt like family to me. So we had a great time on our trip. We're really glad we did it.

Birthday Fun Continued...

Decorations pulled together by my awesome sister-in-law Lindsey. She's so talented. Thanks for all your help Linds!
In this picture is a girl who came all the way from Uraguay... haha ok not really, but kind of. This is one of my best friends Aubree whom I met at Snow College my first year, she was a roomie. She just got back from her mission in Uraguay and had only been home for 2 weeks so it was so great to have her there.

This was all the party friends who joined us... ok pretty much all my friends. Trust me, trying to find a group of one year olds to join us was some tough stuff. haha jk But Hadlie is still a little too young for her own friends to be celebrating a birthday party, right? :)

My best friends Carli and Lindsey. Carli came from Salt Lake and Linds came all the way from Russia! ha jk again, but she just got back from her mission also but had only been on for one week. It's good to see these girls again. :)

The GIANT #1 balloon... Hadlie is getting ready for some serious destroying of the cake... dun dun dun.

And she destroyed it... as a one year old would. :)

It was EVERYWHERE!

This girl does not mess around one bit.

Happy Birthday Hadlie Bug... it's been a great first year, probably the best year of your life! ;)
