Growing up too fast!!

Our little girl is now almost 1!! How does that happen? I just barely looked at all the pics from when she born at the hospital, it is so crazy how fast the time flies by. I guess it just goes to show that we need to enjoy EVERY little minute in the journey, because they come and go and new ones begin. Her little personality is so fun and we wouldn't trade it for anything! So this post is, as they say on tv, "To Be Continued" with the real fun of the birthday party!

Happy New Year!

We spent New Year's down in Cedar City with the fam.

Dad went hunting with the boys.

Hadlie in her cute dress that Grandma Doolin bought her. (She just woke up from a nap.)

(Sorry this pic is the wrong way - turn your head.) This is another favorite Christmas present Hadlie got. It's full of noisy buttons, ambulances, police car sirens, horns honking, cars starting, cell phones ringing, and songs. It's the whole 9 yards and she will stop dead in her tracks when ANY type of music starts up and start to dance up and down. It's great. :)

Hadlie's 1st Christmas!!

So she's not really showing it on her face, but this little baby doll (who Aaron calls "Aunt Jamima") has won Hadlie's heart over. She will give her loves and kisses. It is the cutest thing. She's definitely a girl.

So you'd never be able to guess by her face, but I am actually the one who woke her up on Christmas morning. Yes, I was SO excited that I couldn't stand to wait any longer so I woke up my 10 1/2 month old daughter on Christmas morning. A little overboard? I think not. :)

I got a sweet new Columbia coat. It fit perfectly & I love it.

Our cute little nativity scene. I also had us do a fun little countdown thing. In each of those cubby's, there was a paper that had a thought, a scripture, a suggestion to do something, and a Hymn or Primary song to sing. It really added a spiritual touch to Christmas, which I think we all can use. So it was fun!

And this is a Doolin Christmas tradition! Aaron's grandma started it but the whole thing is handmade. They're little sequins sewed on to the stockings to make the designs. I have a cool piano. Hadlie has a ladybug on her. The girls all have churches on them. And our little family all has candy canes. Isn't that cool!? The scary part is that I am in charge of my grandchildren's stockings... I guess that gives me a few years to learn how to do it. :)

Random Post...

This is my cute dad zipping Hadlie up in his coat before we went outside after watching a sweet USU basketball game. Those games are so loud! Everytime people clapped, Hadlie would start to clap with them. The noise didn't bother her at all. We had a lot of fun.

This was her Thanksgiving dinner platter at Gma & Gpa Doolin's house in Cedar. We had a great time there. The next morning, Muth Doolin, Ashley, and myself went and did the crazy Black Friday shopping. We had lots of fun, and even better... got great deals on gifts!

Aaron's family took a day trip up to the Salt Lake City area. I had already made plans with my mom and aunts to go to Gardener Village, so Aaron hung out with his family all day. Later that night, we hooked back up and all went to Iggy's Sportgrill - best french fries ever! We know it could be worse, but Cedar City is still far far away from Logan. So it was fun to see them.

And this girl likes to chomp on pickles. Chomp & swallow, chomp & swallow. I know this because of what I found the next day in her diaper. Tripped me out. haha (Sorry, probably a little TMI.) Gotta love parenthood! :)

The Funniest Face EVER!!

So all of a sudden, Hadlie started to pull this face and I'm so glad we got it on camera. I am pretty sure it was when her first two bottom teeth came in.

Playing with Daddy upside down!!

Playing with Mommy, right side up! :)

Happy 26th Birthday Aaron!!

Why does this picture look so glorious? Because I, Mackenzie Doolin, a very loving wife, made this cake, the All-Time Favorite & ONLY Birthday cake Aaron requests for his birthday. German Chocolate Cake. I am pretty sure I have never made a cake from scratch before in my life than this day in my life. I have to admit, I was quite proud of myself for making this. (If you can't tell that by now - haha) But ultimately, this cake MADE Aaron's birthday, so it was all worth it! And I think by the time I am an old woman, I will be able to make this cake blindfolded.

Aaron's face after eating his delicious cake. (A side note: this was the beginning of "No Shave November" which turned into "No Shave December" and it would have been "No Shave January" too had he not messed up trying to trim it. He grows a pretty good beard!

Hadlie enjoying all the leaves outside our apartment.

She couldn't get enough of it!

Cedar City Trip!

We found out she really likes chocolate licorice.

Hadlie & Grandpa Doolin at Uncle Ben's football game.

Her cousin Austin is givin her some loves. This is at their Uncle Jake's football game in Panaka, NV... one of the smallest towns I've ever been to. It made Tremonton look huge!

Happy 1st Halloween!!!

So I always wanted to carve a sweet pumpkin like this so Aaron and I made the perfect team. I designed the face and Aaron was the pro-carver. It kind of looked like Mator to us - we loved it!

Hadlie really loved it. If you notice the pillow in her hook on high chair, she actually got bored watching us carve the pumpkin and she fell asleep, we had grabbed a pillow and caught her head before it dropped on the hard counter top. Then she woke up for all the pictures.

Hadlie & her first pumpkin!

That's true happiness. :)

Hadlie and her cousin Ry & Grandma's house.

The school my mom works at puts on a fun trick-or-treating night for the employees to bring their kids or grandkids, so my mom invited us to join the party. Somehow, me and my brother (and our spouses) were the only siblings who showed up, but ALL the grandbabies were there in attendance... it was busy. Don't mind my camera problem, but from left to right: "Jesse Paityn", Hannah Montana Rylee, Conner as a knight, Dilan as a biker dude, Hadlie Ladybug, Skeleton Graysen (in grandma's arms), Vampire Paige, and Star Wars Wyler.
We had a lot of fun, we lost Jesse Paityn a couple of times, and Wyler definitely met Darth Vator and wanted him to give him a ride on his ship the next day. :) It was fun to get to be with the family.

And last but not least, it was only fitting for our Hadlie Bug to be our little LadyBug for her first halloween costume. She looked so dang cute!

Bear Lake Trip

These are my awesome aunts: Sherry, Sue, Sal and my awesome mom. :) We went to our cabin in Bear Lake during the Fall and spent a couple nights there. We always have so much fun, these sisters are so crazy together, it always makes me laugh. My Aunt Sally introduced us all to "Geo-cashing." (Not even sure how to spell it?!) But apparently, it's a pretty popular thing around the world. So we did some in the hills of Bear Lake.

My first Geo-cashing prize from the Bear Lake State Park. Pretty exciting. :)

My Aunt Sherry brought her puppy dog Polo and he needed to get out and play in the water so we stopped at the beach. It's a good thing because Hadlie couldn't get enough of it.

Me & my Bug! :) This trip is when she started her "ew" sound - I'm pretty sure she was saying it for this picture.

August & September

Once upon a time, at the Doolin's, life got crazy busy with church callings, finishing school, and parenthood. And so the blog got pretty neglected, but we're back because our callings have changed, Aaron and I graduated from college, and Hadlie Bug is just growing up and there are so many cute/funny/precious/etc. things to blog about with her. So bear with me and this large catch up from the past 6 months! :)

Happy 6 months Hadlie!!

First bath in the sink! (Every child has to have this picture, right?)

Nothin' like tap water in Logan, UT.

Cache County Fair... so this is the first time I have ever been to any other fair than the Box Elder County Fair, it was a lot of fun, however, I must say that the Cache County Fair only had about 10% of the animals to look at. But they had lots of sheep! :)

We went with our good friends the Browers. Laura and I did our 300 hour practicums together at the Family Info Resource Center and it was a lot of fun because her little boy is only about 2 months younger than Hadlie. So these little kiddies have been friends since the beginning. :) As you can see, they are having an absolute blast with all the sheepies. haha

This was just a dang cute outfit day... provided by Aunt Kelsie. :)
